American Legion Post 534 has been a continuing member of the McFarland community for more than 70 years. Our commitment to our veterans, their families and our community has never wavered. We have given countless dollars back to the McFarland community during our existence.

American Legion Post 534 in McFarland, WI was chartered as the Edwards-Foye post in 1948. The first election of officers took place in 1947. The post was named in honor of two servicemembers from the McFarland area who served in World War I and World War II respectively. Alvin Edwards died on October 16, 1917 in France of pneumonia complicated by 3 wounds of fragments of a bursting shell. He enlisted in the Marine Corps at the beginning of World War I and took part in severe battles of the American cause, which resulted in his promotion to Corporal. Private First Class Steven A. Foye was a United States Marine who was killed in action on September 19, 1944 in the Pacific on Peleliu in the Palau Islands.
